According to you what is the biggest environmental threat in the world at
present?
Sood: We face a major threat from pollution in any
form as it is eventually more destructive and a major health hazard for all.
What do you think a common person can do to help the environment?
Sood: There is lots a common man can do once he has
realized that his actions are eventually destroying the environment. Including
product made out of sustainable and natural products in your daily routine can
go a long way.
What message do you have for the present and future generations?
Sood: For the present generation I can say using
more eco-friendly products, planting more trees, keeping your surroundings
clean, and educating your children about the importance of living with nature
can go a long way. For future generations the advice I have is to not
mindlessly abuse natural resources like the previous generations did. Come up
with innovative ideas to strike a balance between nature and human needs.
What is the significance of ‘World Environment Day’ at the present time?
Sood: Its significance has become particularly
relevant today as with recent menace of tackling pollution and now the COVID-19
pandemic has shown us our fate if we are not able to strike the right balance.
It has also changed mindsets and many people are now consciously motivated to
bring about a change in their lifestyle. There is now an urgent need to make
more and more people understand the importance of environment in our lives.
