ST: What is the most important message you want to send out to all the
women around the world on this occasion?
women around the world on this occasion?
Geetha: One thing which I get to hear from most of the
women is, I don’t find the time. They say they don’t have time for themselves.
And especially to take care of their health. So, I want to tell each woman out
there, that if you take care of your body for one hour, the body will take care
of you for 23hrs. Only if you are healthy, you will be able to take care of
others. Also, please utilize your potential. Doesn’t just be a homemaker.
Everyone has a hidden potential within her. So take time for yourself and do
what you are good at.

ST: What according to you is ‘women empowerment’?
Geetha: Women empowerment according to me, is to give her
the brush and allow her to paint her future on her own. Women empowerment
according to me is to allow her to take charge of her life, to allow her to sit
in the driver’s seat of their life and navigate any way they wish. To take
control of the steering wheel of their life. In short, giving them the opportunity
and freedom of choice.

ST: What would you say are the main challenges facing women at present
in India?
in India?
Geetha: The first and the foremost is those women don’t get
the respect they ought to get. The security of the woman is at stake. Women
have to be conscious of her dressing. And if they do very well in their field,
the world around them looks at them with different eyes.
