Name: Garima Tripathi
Age: 30
City: Mumbai
Occupation: Startup Entrepreneur
ST: Please tell us briefly about you.
Garima: After
graduating from IIT Kanpur in 2010, I worked at Deloitte Consulting for two
years. I decided to take a break from job and went for my education to Boston.
In 2014, I decided to come back to India. Health issues in family led me to
focus on current healthcare state in India and that is when we started Care24
with the vision to provide world-class care at home. I believe professional,
trained and supervised care can improve the quality of life for all age groups.
We at Care24 are continuously striving to deliver that holistic care.

ST: Who is a woman that inspires you the most and why?
Garima: This
is great time to be a woman, we have women leaders at banks, holding offices in
the government and pioneering innovations at ISRO. We also have our mothers,
sisters and friends running businesses, getting PhDs, being great doctors and
engineers. All these women inspire me to push the boundaries and deliver. One
inspiring public figure for me is Late Mrs. Anandi Gopal Joshi, India’s first
female physician to qualify as a Doctor from USA in 1886, 150 years ago! She
was a pioneer and way ahead of her time in pursuing her dreams.

ST: What is the most important message you want to send out to all the
women around the world on this occasion?
women around the world on this occasion?
Garima: To
truly pursue one’s goal, we all need good education and relevant experiences.
My message to all the women is to start investing in their own education, as
that is the strongest force in professional and personal growth. Higher
education leads to better roles and responsibilities and opens up more
opportunities for achieving one’s goal.

ST: What according to you is ‘women empowerment’?
Garima: To
be able to do what you really want to do. To have resources, network and
competency required to pursue one’s dream is the real empowerment.

ST: What would you say are the main challenges facing women at present
in India?
in India?
Garima: The
gender ratio at the top is still very poor and that is the challenge that our
nation is facing. We need families to invest in their daughter’s education and
we need women to work to the top. There is a huge need of more women doctors,
engineers, architects, designers and investors to uplift
the situation of women in India.

research based, protocol driven and empathetic care to people in India. To run organizations
