Sukarya Strong Together NGO

New Delhi, India, May 28, 2020- The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has adversely impacted the livelihood of many workers especially those belonging to the marginalized section of society. Loss of livelihood leads to multiple problems such as hunger, malnutrition, and ill-health among others. However, some ‘Good Samaritans’ have come to the aid of these people. Among them is a non-governmental organization called Sukarya Strong Together which is arranging the provision of food for the needy.
Known as ‘Strong Together’, the initiative aims to alleviate the hunger and malnutrition caused by the loss of livelihood for workers amidst the lockdown. So far, they have distributed over “1 Lakh” food packets in a period of 45 to 50 days at Faridpur near West Patel Nagar, New Delhi. It aiming to target as many marginalized people including migrant workers, domestic help, contractors, and many more. It has roped in over “50” volunteers for this initiative. The team has also distributed food kits and water to the migrant workers at theTau Devi Lal Stadium, Gurugram as well as the Gurugram Bus Stand.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has caused untold hardships especially for those who come from the underprivileged section of the society. As a responsible organization, we stand by the vulnerable section of the society and are committed to helping them in whatever way we can. I urge more people to come forward and support our initiative,” said Sujata Bansal, Founder, Sukarya Strong Together NGO.
The NGO is currently supporting a one-time meal of 700 people daily through these food packets which comprise basic healthy food like rice, green vegetable, Daal etc.
“I am grateful to Sukarya Stay Together for this noble initiative. The COVID-19 lockdown has forced us to go without meals on some occasions. But now, thanks to this initiative, we can afford a one-time meal,” said Ramesh Singh, age 45 from Bihar, labor residing in the nearby area.
Sukarya Strong Together registered under the Societies Registration Act in India.
