General Atlantic Announces Promotions to Managing Director and Principal

General Atlantic, a leading global growth
equity firm, today announced the promotions of Aaron Goldman and Shantanu
Rastogi to managing director and Erin Chang to principal. Mr. Goldman is based
in the firm’s New York office and focuses on investments in the financial
services sector and Mr. Rastogi leads investments in the financial services,
healthcare, and retail & consumer sectors in General Atlantic’s Mumbai
office. Ms. Chang is a senior investment professional in the firm’s Hong Kong
office, focusing on investments in the retail & consumer and healthcare
sectors. The promotions will be effective as of January 1, 2017.

and the great confidence we have in their abilities,” said Bill Ford, CEO of
General Atlantic. “Aaron has demonstrated strong leadership on our Financial
Services team and we are fortunate to have his creativity and investment acumen
as we continue to pursue opportunities in the sector. Additionally, Shantanu’s
extensive experience and knowledge across multiple sectors has been
instrumental in helping to drive our global growth investment strategy in
India.”

Mr. Goldman joined General Atlantic in 2007
and focuses on financial technology investments, with a concentration on
payments. He has been closely involved with General Atlantic’s investments in
BillDesk, Network International, Avant, Adyen, Tory Burch, Mu Sigma, Sura Asset
Management, First Republic Bank, Pierpont Securities, and IHS Markit. He
currently serves as the General Atlantic shareholder representative for Adyen,
a technology company that provides businesses with a single solution to accept
payments anywhere in the world, and as a board observer for Network
International, a leading provider of payments solutions in the Middle East and
Africa.
Prior to joining General Atlantic, Mr. Goldman
spent five years with the growth equity team at the Fremont Group in San
Francisco, where he made several investments in the internet, communications,
and healthcare sectors and served as president and CFO of LPL Technologies.
Before joining the Fremont Group, he was an analyst in the leveraged finance
group at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. Mr. Goldman graduated with a B.S. in
economics with a concentration in finance, magna cum laude, from The Wharton
School of the University of Pennsylvania, and earned an M.B.A. from Harvard
Business School where he graduated with highest distinction and was a Baker
Scholar. Mr. Goldman serves on the board of directors of Citymeals-on-Wheels.
Mr. Rastogi joined General Atlantic in 2013,
after having previously worked as an associate for General Atlantic from 2005
to 2007. He focuses on investments in the financial services, healthcare, and
retail & consumer sectors in India and Asia-Pacific. Mr. Rastogi has played
an active role in General Atlantic’s investments in PNB Housing Finance
Limited, IIFL Wealth & Asset Management, House of Anita Dongre, National
Stock Exchange, Sharekhan, and NDTV. Mr. Rastogi serves on the board of
directors of the House of Anita Dongre and IIFL Wealth Management Limited.
Prior to joining General Atlantic, Mr. Rastogi
was a principal at Apax Partners where he focused on investments in the
healthcare and retail sectors. Previously, Mr. Rastogi was a consultant at
McKinsey & Company. He earned an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the
University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelors of Technology and a Masters of
Technology degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of
Technology, Mumbai.
Mr. Ford continued, “We are also pleased to
promote Erin Chang to principal. Erin has been an exceptional investment
professional and key member of our China team. We look forward to her
leadership as we continue to develop our healthcare and consumer sectors in
China.”
Ms. Chang joined General Atlantic in 2007 and
concentrates on investments in the healthcare and retail & consumer
sectors. During her time at General Atlantic, she has been involved in the firm’s
investments in Ocean Link, Xiabu Xiabu, Tenfu, Sun Art Retail Group, and
ZhongSheng Group, and provided support during the Tory Burch investment
process.

Prior to joining General Atlantic, Ms. Chang
was a business analyst on the corporate finance team for McKinsey &
Company, based in the firm’s Hong Kong office. She earned a graduate degree
from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
