ST: Please tell us briefly about you.
Rashi: I have done Masters in Business Administration and have worked with
leading corporate houses including Tata Communications, Lenovo and Samsung
before I realized a gap in the natural skincare range segments available across
the Indian Market and started with Alanna with the thought that seeking the
goodness of nature is a luxury and every earthling must be able to access the
benefit of Mother Nature.

ST: Who is a woman that inspires you the most and why?
Rashi: Every woman right from a housewife to the first lady of the country is
an inspiration for me as all of them have somewhere fought the odds on similar
grounds. However, the women I adore the most are Sushmita Sen & Oprah
Winfrey as they are independent thinkers who have carved their own way and
don’t believe in follow any of the set traditions. They hold belief in a purpose
that is larger than life and empower women with their actions and not just
words.

ST: How are you celebrating this year’s International Women’s Day?
Rashi: Alanna as an organization believes in empowering the women by creating
jobs for them. At Alanna 90% work force are women. Alanna is also planning to
do a give-away in form of charity to a few women organization that supports the
mutual cause as we do .It also has 15 % discount offer on select Alanna

ST: What is the most important message you want to send out to all the
women around the world on this occasion?

Rashi: As a woman & man, we are equal in every aspect and regards and
there is no reason we should have any self-doubts to succeed and fulfil our
desires, both professional and personal. Believe in yourself and take chances
to fulfil your dreams. We are blessed with only one life let us utilise it to
the fullest.

ST: What according to you is ‘women empowerment’?
Rashi: The key to women empowerment lies in educating the girl child and if
not more, then equal opportunity must be given to women to develop all-rounder
skills. They should be endowed with the right to choose what they
want to achieve in their lives. Furthermore, leading organizations can support
working women by providing additional aid like extended maternity support along
with work from home facility during the menstrual days and last but not the
least, have a stringent enforcement of women safety across all levels at the
workplace.

ST: What would you say are the main challenges facing women at present
in India?

Rashi: I foresee myself as an established entrepreneur who is able to make a
difference in the lives of women and also set an example that anyone can
achieve whatever they desire as long as they believe in themselves.
