Name: Dawn Brown
City: Athens, Greece
Occupation: Freelance Food Stylist
ST: Please tell us briefly about
you.
you.
Dawn: I’ve
been working now for over 15 years as an international Food Stylist, based in
Athens, Greece.I’m born and raised in Canada and have always had a passion for
everything foodie, from a very young age.
As a twist of fate would have it, I relocated to Europe at some point and
have been enjoying it ever since. My job
is very creative and allows me a lot of room for personal expression and interpretation
As well, it also takes me to many new countries, where I can experience both
the culture, the people and, of course, the food.

ST: Who is a woman that inspires you the most and why?
Dawn: Inspiration
comes from within us or is brought to us by someone else and it is rarely
experienced without a degree of driving passion. It causes us to do great,
meaningful things in our lives. Many
women in my life have done great things and have achieved greatness in my eyes. They have gone the extra mile because of
their own inspiration and passion…my mother, my daughter, friends, colleagues
and many, many women of the world who I have not met personally. They collectively have inspired me (some more
and some less) and I hope, in turn, to be able to pass this inspiration onto
others.

ST: What is the most important message you want to
send out to all the women
send out to all the women
around the world on this occasion?
Dawn: Find your sense of
self and your inspiration. Together,
they provide the foundation for carrying you forwardin your life and allowing
you to pursue your dreams.

ST: What according to you is ‘women empowerment’?
Dawn: I
think Ayn Rand said it very well, “The question isn’t who’s going to let me;
it’s who is going to stop me.” Social mind-sets need to shift dramatically, in
all corners of the world. Women need to
reclaim their collective voice and their power.

ST: What would you say are the main challenges facing women at present
globally?
globally?
Dawn: Women
face daily challenges all over the world and on every level of every society…A
simple answer would not suffice to address such a complicated issue. Women face challenges of discrimination,
education, employment, health, personal safety and security…just to name a
few. The challenges are well known. It’s the solutions to these challenges that need
to be identified and acted upon.

ST: Where do you want to see yourself in next 5 years?
Dawn: Hopefully,
continuing to pursue my passions and perhaps, in the process, being able to
pass on a little bit of inspiration to others in my life!
