have always found a sense of achievement and pride in creating something new. I
started my career as a lawyer with the Delhi International Arbitration Centre
as one of the core team members. I am proud of setting it up from scratch and
taking it to great heights. After working as a lawyer for about seven years I
made this beautiful shift to launch RENT IT BAE, a tech enabled fashion rental
service. My husband Ricky Gujral (operations and IT expert), my brother-in-law,
Karan Gujral (technology guru and ex-Google employee) along with a friend Amit
Sharma (technology guru) joined the brand as co-founders.
with a never dying attitude. There is a way out in every situation, only it
needs to be found.
draw my inspiration from not just the top leading women of the world but from
every single woman who is fierce and determined to achieve her goals and is
carving her way, her way!
women’s day, RENT IT BAE will be introducing #SpreadingJoyOfFashion campaign.
We are collecting ethnic ‘new-like’ garments from our users and women around;
these would then be tweaked by our designers and will form part of trousseau
for a few underprivileged brides. We are working with a few NGOs who are
helping us identifying these ‘To Be Brides’. Women around have been too kind.
So far, apart from numerous collections, two women have donated their bridal
lehengas. (I would love to name them: Ms. Kanika Batra and Dr. Ms. Deepshikha Arora). Kudos & more
power to them!
women around the world on this occasion?
listen to your inner voice. Do it your way. Do not succumb to societal pressures.
Never let your husband/boyfriends, kids, family take decisions for you. It
won’t be easy and you won’t be able to please all the people around, but it
will definitely be worth it. It is our TIME TO RISE!
empowerment is not an issue that the
world needs to ponder upon, every woman must
realise that she has the power to take on anything and everything the world has to offer. There is a
need to educate our girl child to realize her powers and a male child to
respect the same. The moment the world
recognises the power of a person who gives birth, half of the battle towards
women empowerment is won.
in India?
Indian women at the moment are handling the dual role of ‘going out and earning
(a job, business, service provider)’ and ‘taking care of the household’. And I
believe that is a tough job. Unfortunately, women till date are judged by the
way she takes care of the house and her children and it is not the same for the
man. A man’s job (in most households) is just to go out and work. This makes it
very difficult for today’s woman to work outside and come to an huge everyday
task sheet called ‘household chores’!
India’s top rental platform supporting and encouraging many of my kind to not
be afraid of leading a life which might not be so called normal.
