authentic handmade products cutting across the length and breadth of India and
fishing out the most splendid and exquisite handicrafts to the reach of your
houses. Eventually it is only the traditional skill and innovative
craftsmanship of the ethnic masses reflected in their craft which can only lead
us to the reputation we aspire to build with our customers.
How did you come up with the idea to start ‘AuthIndia’? Do you remember any
particular incident?
Verma: It wasn’t an
impulsive decision to start this venture neither a single incidence which might
have evoked us to get on with an idea. It was rather a way we wanted to live
our lives because our inclination towards Arts & Crafts. We believe that
everyone can choose the life he wants to have for himself, eventually it’s a
matter of choices you make.

Please tell us more about your venture?
Verma: Authindia was
started with a vision to make a brand out of Indian traditional crafts. India has
a luxuriant handicrafts industry thriving in far flung provinces of India. A
potentate workforce just bearing the brunt of ignorance and lack of soulful
marketing. Currently we are having Artifacts relating various categories as in
Home Decoration, Accessories, Handmade Jewellery, Handloom Clothing and usable
artistic goods. Besides all of these we are striving everyday to add up more
such traditional crafts.
At present, which cities are you covering?
Verma: We are
delivering products PAN India & looking forward to start shipping globally
very soon.
What is your team size at present? Are you planning to increase your team size
in near future?
Verma: Currently we
are 4 in numbers. Along with me (Kush Verma), in the team we have Saurabh
Sharma, Raj Kamal & Prashant Sharma. We also have few freelancer Content
writers & Social Media people associated with us.
Do you face any challenge to run your venture? Did you raise any capital to
start the venture?
Verma: Yes, when you
intend to break the conventional mindset, you are bound to face the challenge.
Currently we are bootstrapped & haven’t raised any funding.
What is your view about Indian handicrafts market? How e-commerce platforms are
impacting the handicraft market?
Verma: There is a
huge scope of Indian handicrafts in domestic and global market. We are all
aware there is yet so much to be done to jog up the conscience of masses for
indigenous arts.
What message would you like to convey to budding entrepreneurs?
Verma: I would just
like to speak my heart out as I feel that one shouldn’t hold oneself from doing
something noble and creative for the fear of being criticized. Live by your
conscience, it never tells a lie.
