Barcelona
4 Years From Now (4YFN),
the Mobile World Capital Barcelona (MWCapital) global business platform for the
growing community of technology startups is broadening its presence at specific
trade fairs in order to connect entrepreneurs with their industry. The platform will be present at
Automobile Barcelona fair, which will take place at Fira Montjuïc, from 11-12
May and Barcelona Building Construmat, which will take place between 23-26 May
at Fira Gran Via.
As
MWCapital’s CEO, Aleix Valls explains, “The aim of these events is to connect
representatives of traditional industries with entrepreneurs and startups that
can help them to implement new processes and innovative solutions.”

4YFN
Mobility Village: a space for automotive industry startups
Automobile
Barcelona will house the 4YFN Mobility Village, a
space in which 22 national and international startups will have the opportunity
to present their products and solutions to a group of 40 investors, in addition
to large corporations and other visitors. Ficosa and SEAT have
provided a selection of leading startups within the automotive industry, among
which the following stand out: Rayvolt, who offers an innovative and sustainable system
of electric bicycles that could revolutionise the world of human transportation
and Ubikable, a tool that helps users manage their driving
technique to make it more efficient and intelligent thanks to the constant
analysis of the vehicle’s consumption and the driver’s habits.
A
total of 5 startups will have the opportunity to take part in the SEAT Demo Day
via the Conector acceleration programme and will have a booth within the 4YFN
Mobility Village. Some of the startups to pitch an stage during the Demoday
are: Opencar, a multibrand P2P platform for sharing private vehicles and
Boonder, who focus on Plug&Play remote connectivity.
Along
the same lines, Ficosa has selected a further 10 startups with the aim of
helping them to develop a consolidated business from Barcelona and San
Francisco. ParkTAG, which converts smartphones into carpark sensors, Capte,
which boosts vehicle connectivity and MAPIT IoT, that will be centres on
geopositioning solutions, are some of the startups taking part.
Ficosa
has sought the support and expertise of 4YFN in selecting the startups most likely
to bring added value to their business.
An
opportunity for entrepreneurs in the construction industry
4YFN
will also be present at Barcelona Building Construmat, the international
construction fair that projects the future with a perspective based on
innovation and knowledge.  For the first time, 4YFN has opened a process
to select 12 startups in the construction sector that will have an opportunity
to display their projects in the 4YFN Innovation Village.
Each
one will be linked with one of the six phases of the construction life cycle:
planning and design, materials, circular economy, execution, finalisation and
remodelling and maintenance.
In
addition to presenting their projects, the startups will hold pitching sessions
in front of construction industry experts, 25 investors and other visitors, in
addition to being able to expose their technology to the market and take part
in networking sessions.
