NE8x,

2016.The platform was later adopted as an open-source integrated community

The Team
As NE8x has been working as
an open-source networking platform, we had access to some of the best minds
from the region who understands the community better and deeper. Our team
currently headed by Riddhinil Roy, with Operations Head Anisha Das has also a
provision for CEO for a day, where we invite community members to experience
NE8x and the work we do as CEO and lead changes & disruption. Subsequently
across the important metro cities which hosts a large population of the young
population from Northeast India our regional heads help cater to their
requirements from the respective cities: Mr. Debashish
Kashyap (New Delhi), Mr. Ranajit Pangambam (Bengaluru), Mrs. Manimala Hazarika
(Mumbai), Mr.Kinjal Basumatari (Chennai) and Mr. Rajarshee
Chakraborty(Kolkata). Apart from these, our regional heads work from Guwahati,
Bongaigaon, Sibsagar, Naharlagun, Dimapur, Aizawl, Agartala, Gangtok, Imphal
and Shillong. We have a network of 43+ District Ambassadors in the region.
The Initiatives
Since our inception, we have
left no stone unturned to challenge the status quo about redefining the
entrepreneurship scene in Northeast India. We agree that our initiatives have
been fuelled by the timely intervention of Government policies: Startup India
at Centre and launch of regional startup fund under NEDFi. However, we have
also derived and tried to make the regional SC I ST I Women entrepreneurs about
benefits of the Standup India schemes. We have worked hands-on to design NE8x
Coworking in companies existing in the region, so that people can brainstorm
ideas. In a first, we have launched a massive crowdfunding campaign on Ketto
for helping and recognising the efforts of entrepreneurs from the region whom
we recognise every month under the banner of NEXT BIG 500 from Northeast India.
Timely meetups I addressing problems of the start-ups has been another
perspective on which we have organised NE8x startup meets offline as well
through online modes frequently.

Our statistics
Analysing
the insights we have gathered over the months, NE8x has come up with the first
android app dedicated solely for start-ups from the region with a rating of 4.3
on scale of 5.Being an online based platform, our site and allied sites have
received an average of 14,000 hits per month and continue to improve. Service
listing has also increased upto 3 new sub-divisons on our platform. Registered
portfolio of start-ups is currently 48+ I Mentor network database combined for
NE8x stands at a figure of 54+ ,also joined by 37+ corporate partners.

The Founder, Riddhinil Roy representing NE8x has been awarded for the
phenomenal initiatives undertaken by NE8x at Assam Youth Summit 2016, Dispur. Earlier
this year, NE8x was awarded ‘The Best IoT Startup Accelerator for Assam’ at
Assam Tech Summit held at Guwahati recently. Our team at various instances have
received coverage from National & International media with our core team
been asked to represent NE8x at seminars on entrepreneurship development
at EMERGE 2016 (IIM Shillong), UDGAM 2017 (IIT Guwahati) and PAARBON 2017
(NIT Silchar) to name a few among the premiere institutions across the
Northeast India region. We have signed more than 65+ MoU so far.
Challenges & Future ahead
Challenges have been a part of our journey
since the day we started. Current challenges include expanding the District
ambassadors database I increasing outreach I reaching out to remote areas to
have a hand-on experience with the rural entrepreneurs I designing effective
operation flow customised for our entire platform users from Northeast India.
In my childhood days, the sight of walking through flooded streets of Guwahati
to reach my school bus stand is still a nightmare that i cannot forget
through-out my life. Our residential colony in Guwahati is becoming a retired
community colony with siblings settled in metro cities. I rather chose to stay
here, shifting from Bangalore. Born and brought up in the city with schooling
in Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara leadership skills were bestowed upon me by my
respected teachers. This inspires my team at NE8x, to serve the community of
changemakers I disruptors I entrepreneurs from the region to bring a change. Every
10 years, a new technology takes over or even faster. We are working closely
with the regional bodies to evolve with this change. The backward tag
associated with Northeast India, to us is a mere indication of the work pending
across domains in the region. We are committed to encouraging first generation
entrepreneurs with our remote web-library of resources, assist existing
businesses take full advantage of the new technology at par with the metro
cities with the motto create I innovate I inspire for a ‘Made in Northeast
India, made for the world’ story from our respective eight states.
Towards the future ahead we aim to bootstrap some more initiatives under our
banner to help market the local talent I diversify the logistics &
distribution chain for the startup community. We believe at the pace our
intiative is receiving support and the increasing number of sustainable
start-ups from the region, we look up to Northeast India as the next big
startup hub of India and also an important centre for South-East Asia economy.
