ST: Who is a woman that inspires you the most and why?
Aakruti: There are many women who
will think of Like Mother Teresa, Sarojini Naidu, Indira Gandhi etc., lots to
learn from each one of them. But the two important women in my life are My
Mother and my Mother in Law, both home maker. My Mother always taught me
saying Nothing is impossible, to be focused, be punctual, be a go getter. My
Mother in law taught me how to be independent, retain values
and self-less yet ensure that you listen to your heart. A multi tasker,
trained to be good cook, help society, excellent planner, never gave up till
the last minute of her life. She taught me how to respect and
ensure you get treated with equality and respect. I remember her daily and
miss her.

Aakruti: Act as a catalyst for change
by simple acts of continuing to teach my son that house hold chores are men, s
responsibility too. Teaching him how to respect women from a gender equality
perspective. Thanking my mom for bringing me into this world as a woman and
continue to empower her to love herself as much as she loves everyone around
her. Inspire and empower women around me be it my friends, family
to celebrate the joy of being a woman and continue to celebrate not only
on this day but every moment of my life.
