The Department of Economic
Development-Ajman (DED-Ajman) has commenced implementing the second phase of
its ‘Single window for all commercial licensing procedures’ initiative, which
is part of the department’s continuing efforts to improve the customer’s steps
in obtaining a business license in the emirate—making the whole process faster,
easier and more convenient while also helping create a more investment friendly
environment for Ajman, which can help in achieving its set goals and objectives
by 2021. The launch of the second phase of the initiative was made during a
recent meeting held by DED-Ajman with eGovernment, which was attended by key
representatives from Public Transport Corporation, Ajman Police Department, the
Directorate of Civil Defense and the Ajman Municipality and Planning
Department.

Al Nuaimi, Director General, DED-Ajman, explained that the ‘Single window for
all commercial licensing procedures’ initiative represents strategic importance
for the department–acting as a key driving force in the move to optimize
economic and investment capabilities of the emirate. Al Nuaimi noted that the
initiative serves as a strong foundation that aims to provide an ease in doing
business while also maintaining Ajman’s progress and move to achieve its
vision.
Al Nuaimi, Director General, DED-Ajman, explained that the ‘Single window for
all commercial licensing procedures’ initiative represents strategic importance

said Al Nuaimi.

The first phase of the
initiative focused on seamlessly providing the business licensing process with
an electronic link to related entities, which include the Public Transport
Corporation, Ajman Police Department, the Directorate of Civil Defense, the
Ajman Municipality and Planning Department and the Ajman Chamber of Commerce.
The second phase will continue with providing an electronic link strategic
partners and stakeholders–issuing the business licenses through a single
window to finalize the transactions of DED-Ajman’s customers.
