Barcelona,
Spain, September 8, 2017- 4 Years From Now (4YFN), a Mobile World Capital
Barcelona (MWCapital) programme that offers a global business platform for the
growing community of technology startups, has launched the second call of the
accelerator IMPACT Growth. This programme, funded by the European Commission,
has the aim to select 4 European super startups. The announcement has been made
in DLD Tel Aviv Innovation Festival, the leading technological event of the
country, in which 4YFN participates for the third consecutive year from today
until next Wednesday September 7.
Following
the huge success of the first call, the startup acceleration programme IMPACT
Growth launches its second open call for startups, with a fund of €3.6 million
and a final aim of accelerating fourteen European startups.

Coordinated
by FundingBox and with the acceleration process led by ISDI and Accelerace, the
programme is supported by the participation of the FIWARE Foundation, Mobile
World Capital Barcelona, Kibo Ventures and Invesdor. Industry leaders Danone,
Ferrovial Servicios, DOCOMO Digital and MADE will provide further market
support to the SMEs and startups involved. IMPACT Growth is an initiative
funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme.
The
second open call will select 14 startups that will be financed with up to €250,000
equity free funding. The best startups will have the opportunity to receive an
additional private funding up to €1.5 million from participating investors. In
this round, IMPACT Growth expects to surpass the success achieved in the first
open call, which received applications from more than 1,900 startups from 60
countries.
The
programme is focused on four verticals and is aimed at companies with a proven
track-record, and with products that are already in the market. The four
verticals are: Smart Infrastructure & Cities, Smart Content, Smart
Manufacturing and Smart AgriFood.
IMPACT
Growth builds its expertise on the successful work previously done by IMPACT,
the accelerator that invested €6.4 million in 63 startups during 2014-2016.
IMPACT has recently been named among the global top ten in Gust’s Global
Accelerator Report, after evaluating 579 programmes from five continents.

On
par with IMPACT’s previous programmes, funding will go hand in hand with a
high-performance startup training programme in which renowned experts and
international entrepreneurs will deliver practical classes in the cities of
Madrid, Copenhagen and Barcelona. Following the initial acceleration week,
startups will not be required to relocate to another city, they will simply have
remote access to an international network of more than one hundred recognized
mentors, founders and investors. The mentors, experts in different key areas of
knowledge, both in the digital sector and from within the accelerator’s four
verticals experts, will help startups solve complex issues related to business,
technology and scalability.
The
participation of the FIWARE Foundation will allow the beneficiaries to receive
support in incorporating FIWARE technologies into their software architecture.
FIWARE is a solution of technological development, open source and cloud-based
technology stack that eases the creation and global deployment of smart
services and applications in the new digital era.
4YFN
has brought to DLD Tel Aviv Innovation Festival a delegation of startups
(TRIBOOM, DealMatrix and TTSPRTS), investors and accelerators seeking to
establish connections with the local digital ecosystem and open doors in the
Israeli market. The startups count with a programme of activities which include
pitching sessions, attendance to presentations hold by professionals in the
sector and networking activities.
