ST: According to you what is the biggest
environmental threat in the world at present?

Pruthav: I
feel that unawareness and misinformation about the whole issue amidst the
larger population is a major problem. People need to be educated about the
situation. At the end of the day it is those public policies that need to be in
sync with the spreading of awareness and education about the subject

ST: What do you think a common person can do to
help the environment?

Pruthav: Apart
from doing the small little bits like using water wisely, buying only what’s
needed, I feel like a common man can explore and use alternative products that
are greener. I recently gave up meat only because I finally found an equivalent
and a better alternative. Challenging traditional systems and ways and adapting
greener, more sustainable alternatives is surely something that all of us can
do.

ST: What message do you have to the present and
future generations?

Pruthav: Be
vigilant and just don’t accept things the way they are shown. Take an effort to
read up a little. Take it upon yourself to be educated on these issues. Know
more and then make reasonable and relevant decisions (In respect to our
personal lifestyle and also the messages that we share) We have the power of
expression and the power to change and fix the system. It is only our
generation (the youth) and the ones to come who have seen such a huge shift in
the way information travels. You would soon realise that it all starts with leading
a cleaner lifestyle and a cleaner lifestyle is actually a greener lifestyle.

Environment Day’ at the present time?

Pruthav: It is
one particular day which raises issues. Yes, it’s just a day but it is an
annual reminder to all those people who don’t really address this as a problem
in their Lives. To celebrate this day a lot of people post things on their
social media handles and these issues are even raised in the mainstream media.
This helps in spreading awareness and figuring ways to tackle the situation
collectively.
