Name: Nalini Jindal
Age: 36
City: Gurgaon, India
Occupation: Financial Advisory Business

ST: Please
tell us briefly about you.

Nalini: Three things that describe me as a women are Strong,
Positive, Fun loving person.

Strong: – 36 years of life and I cannot thank God
enough for a phenomenal journey it has been. Life has taught me that being
strong is your only option and we women can get through anything and come out
of it stronger if we have the courage, the strength and faith in ourselves.

Positive: – My positive thinking keeps me going and
makes sure I find opportunity in the most adverse situations. Being optimistic,
living in the present and not letting other people’s negativity affect me are
certain things I practise to become a better person than what I was yesterday.

Fun loving person: – What is life without little bit
of fun. I totally believe in the healing power of humor. They say a funny bone
can be a life saver, besides it just makes life’s adversities easier to deal
with.

ST: Who is a woman that inspires you
the most and why?

Nalini: I am inspired by a lot of women all around the globe.
Kiren Bedi, Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey to name a few. All these women have
a great
positive and encouraging attitude. From rags to riches, from
zero to hero, these women have proved that compassion, sincerity, courage and
hard work have no substitute. These women have bravely walked the path where
other dare not set their foot. They have empowered not just other women but everyone
all over the world.

ST: How are you celebrating this
year’s International Women’s Day?

Nalini: This International Women’s Day theme is
#pressforprogress so keeping the theme in mind we are having an event at our
company to celebrate each women’s achievements where they can share their
success story. The purpose is to connect, encourage and unite the women at work
so that they stay together and stronger.

ST: What
is the most important message you want to send out to all the women around the
world on this occasion?

Nalini: The most important message I want to send out
to all women is to be there for each other, help each and stand together and
tall. Charity begins at home and we don’t need to go far for this gesture. Be
it our domestic help, our relationships, friends, and colleagues at work, let’s
empower each other and help each other achieve our goals.

ST: What
according to you is ‘women empowerment’?

Nalini: What is the true and authentic power of a women – Something
that can’t be taken away from you, something that is there to stay for life.

Education, is the first step towards empowerment. So educating
every women, every girl child should definitely be done. Educated women are
more aware about their rights, can take better care of their children and
family and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Creating a safe environment for women not only at
workplaces but everywhere in the society, be it schools, colleges, offices or
even on roads.

Creating more job opportunities for women, creating
flexible working environment for women.

ST: What
would you say are the main challenges facing women at present in India?
Nalini: Main challenges that women in India face are sexual
harassment, child marriage,
Female infoeticide, poor health due to
inadequate nutrition, No education or very less education, domestic violence.

ST: Where
do you want to see yourself in next 5 years?

Nalini: Honestly speaking, I do not make such long term
plans. I work better with short term and right now plans. That said I definitely
see myself a more successful professional proving world class services to all
our clients. I make each day in my life count as what I will do today will
define my tomorrow.

I see myself being a better human being than what I am
today, leading a more peaceful, successful and a happy life.
