Name: Asha M
Age: 27
City: Bengaluru, India
Occupation: Co-founder, Rentprop4u
ST: Please tell us briefly about you.
Asha: Armed
with a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, I was gearing up for my next
challenge when Nagaraju and Ravi proposed the idea for Rentprop4u. I instantly
found a connect. As a property owner, I had faced numerous problems myself.
From finding the right tenant and performing a complete background check to
offering assured rentals and managing the property, Rentprop4u seemed to offer
a solution to most of these problems. I was convinced that we could be the
bridge between owners and tenants. And there started my entrepreneurial journey
in 2016.I oversee business tie-ups and marketing in the company.

However, it’s not without fears that I
took the plunge. With not much experience in real estate apart from renting out
our own properties, I did ask myself if I’d be able to handle this. As real
estate isn’t traditionally a women’s domain, there were some people who
questioned my abilities. I was not intimidated by them though.

ST: Who is a woman that inspires you the most and why?
Asha: My
Grandmother has always been my inspiration. Her never-give up attitude has
always encouraged me take on challenges head on. Not only is she hard working;
she doesn’t give up even if she is faced with the hardest of challenges.

ST: What according to you is ‘women empowerment’?
Asha: Equality
should start from home; we are equal to our men, be it our brothers, husbands
or fathers. Real women empowerment cannot be limited to just economic or
workplace freedom, it should contribute to the overall growth of the society.

in India?
Asha: From
female infanticide and lack of nutrition to gender discrimination and lack of
education, Indian women still face some of the most fundamental problems.
Unless these are tackled, the other larger issues cannot be solved.
