The perception about young startup may
vary from its culture, dynamic growth rate to its strategic changes in the work
structure. Behind every aspect of the startup stands firmly the team, the
workforce, the Human Resource.

It is solely the team effort that helps a
brand develop its foothold in the ever changing market.  Any company
with a well laid out hierarchy structure of reporting consists of designations
and job descriptions that demand skills and qualities tailor made to suit the
job.
Many startups today strive hard to strike
a balance between Flexibility and Corporate Policy designing. Skycandle, a home
utility store believes in Transparency and promotes unbiased corporate policy
system for all. There by, encouraging all to become an integral part of the
vision with mutual benefits. Challenges on workforce front are unique in nature
depending upon the nature of flexibility expected.

The role of HR to ensure both discipline
and job responsibility then comes to picture.

In a startup, limited resources and ever
changing market dynamics tend to develop circumstances which demand Change
Management in all departments. The team development activities and activities
to strengthen the employees with skills in demand to tackle such situations
take highest priority. Various personality development activities like e – mail
ethics, Power point presentations and office etiquettes are some tools for
effective representation of brand.

Aligning workshops to groom and nurture
teams are also important for the team leader as it helps him or her to lead
well. A team has its faith in the leader; it then becomes important for the
leader to understand the responsibility bestowed on his or her shoulders to
best guide the team. A team leader needs to first realize the impact of change
and come up with a strategy lined out well to smoothly row the boat. Leader
should always keep in mind, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. Again
a few activities can be conducted to better structure the work in hand while
others can just be fun enough for all to cherish.

Various activities are organized on HR
level to make sure the vision of the company is communicated correctly to all
the employees in such a way that it encourages others to run together towards
the milestone of Success. The vision statement of any company forms a strong
foundation which later on turns out as a movement towards a better and brighter
future. Walking together comes with a nurturing process strong enough to
inculcate moral and ethical values and responsibilities towards the job.

In a startup with immense growth comes
immense workload. This work load needs to be circulated to designated team
members at the right time and in the right way to assure results. Like any
other company, Skycandle follows a strategic plan to streamline work in such a
way that it does not end up being a burden on others. Management skills and
Time Management Skills act as primary tools in this process. With targets
achieved comes rewards, rewards can differ in nature as some can come in the
form of promotions and others in the form of acknowledgement accompanied by
Certificate.

When it comes to leading a team of 70
people with different skill set, it becomes a constant effort in terms of HR
Management to balance performance and motivational factors. The growth of any
company resides on the shoulders of employees and the success is an outcome of
combined efforts of each and everyone in the company. With the motto to promote
skills among workforce, Skycandle looks forward to adding brighter people in
the team.
