Interview: Sheshgiri Kamath, Co-Founder & CEO, Kapture CRM


Launched in 2014, Kapture CRM- a Cloud-Based SaaS Customer Relationship Management Software, has fast become the preferred choice of growing enterprises looking for a transformational CRM experience. Kapture CRM is a brainchild of three founders Sheshgiri Kamath, Vikas Garg, and Pearl Tewari; who first got together in 2011 and launched a platform for offline marketing automation.

Kapture CRM software focuses on sales and customer service automation for mid to large-sized companies across diverse verticals like e-commerce, internet companies, real estate, hotel, travel, cruise line, airlines, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment sales. Headquartered at Bengaluru, the company also has offices in Florida, Mumbai, and Gurugram.

In an exclusive interview with Startup Terminal; Sheshgiri Kamath, Co-Founder & CEO, Kapture CRM shares more insights about the venture and future plans.

Excerpts:

ST: Please briefly explain more about your venture. What motivated you to start the venture?

Sheshgiri Kamath: During our stint at via.com, we started operations across different countries. We realized that CRMs needed a huge change. While they were good at some tasks, they lacked any form of intelligence. The market was ripe for disruption.

ST: What future business opportunities do you see particularly in your industry?

Sheshgiri Kamath: Enterprise SaaS is growing at a rapid phase. Out of this CRM constitutes a huge chunk.  The advent of Machine learning and newer technologies brings a huge opportunity, especially with a well-executed product that can be implemented successfully.


ST: How has been the journey of Kapture CRM so far?

Sheshgiri Kamath: While Kapture started in 2014, our entrepreneurial journey started 8 years back. In a short span of 5 years, we have managed to acquire over 500 customers across 12 countries. Today, leaders in their respective industries and some very cutting-edge brands depend on Kapture for growing their business.

ST: As an entrepreneur, what challenges do you face in your day to day professional life, if any?

Sheshgiri Kamath: We are very fortunate to be surrounded by a great team, both internal and from our customers’ side.  Hiring is one of the greatest challenges you face as an entrepreneur since great people can make or break companies. Ensuring that learning and development is a constant part of every team member’s daily plan is something that we talk about every day. Our product is used by a huge number of people who spend their entire day on Kapture. A huge challenge is to make their experience simpler and more effective every day.

ST: How big is your team? Are you planning to hire more?

Sheshgiri Kamath: We are 200+ people. We continue to grow our team in North America, India and South East Asia.

ST: What are your future Plans?

Sheshgiri Kamath: Our focus on the North American market has never been stronger. We see a huge growth coming from the U.S., especially from the travel vertical. On the product side, we are investing heavily into R&D to give our customers a more intelligent way of managing customers.
